I have been thinking about the correspondences of the holidays to the sephiroth. This was brought up in my coven last week. Hence, I have been looking through Liber 777 by Crowley to see if he's got anything and I shall eventually go through the rest of the Cabalistic literature I've accumulated over the months. So far, I've got nothing from books. However, my ponderings have been somewhat productive. In starting at Malkuth and looking at it as physical manifestation, I think I'd relate Winter Solstice to Malkuth. Winter Solstice is the birth of the sun god, the manifestation of all that preceeds before it. If then we were to place the holidays in reverse sequence starting with Winter Solstice and Malkuth, we'd achieve the following:

Kether ......... Chokma ........ Binah Imbolc/Candlemas Chesed Vernal Equinox/Ostara Geburah Beltane Tiphareth Litha/Summer Solstice Netszach Lammas Hod Autumn Equinox/Mabon Yesod Samhain Malkuth Winter Solstice/Yule

I will meditate more on these and see if the others fit. But at least the brain is working, eh? I may be a blonde, but sometimes I can jog a few ideas loose. <G>

Any thoughts on this? Anyone else ever do this? Would like to hear...

You're forcing the sequence (like another Naples arrangement) Try it from the other end...

Interesting thoughts. But you might be limiting yourself.

The sefirot have correspondances when it comes to the Jewish holidays as well (big surprise, huh?) but not just one sefirah/holiday. Often there are multiple sefirot working in conjunction with each other (such as Chesed and Geburah/Din during Rosh HaShannah and Yom Kippur).

If you're interested I can post some of those correspondances if you think that may jump-start your processes.
