Good advice if it works. There are a LOT of rabbis who look down on anything that smacks of mysticism and who hold those who teach it/work with it in very low esteem. Fortunately, my own mentors are deeply steeped in the mystic side of Judaism. That helped me a great deal as I went through my own formation process.
