Greetings, Although I have been subscribed to this group for a while now, tonight is the first chance i've had to read any of the messages. I'm usually someone who dosen't post much, but I thought I would at least repsond to those who ask 'is anyone here' to say that yes I am and I look forward to many intriguing cnversations. I guess I am especially interested in some of the offshoots of the Golden Dawn, especially anything to do with Dion Fortune. later, Andrew Kaiser University of Pittsburgh

Hello Andrew, You may find the SOL (Servants of Light) interesting. They were founded by W.E.Butler a friend and student of Dione Fortune. I'm told that her own organisation has developed into a religious sort of group that isn't active in magic anymore. I would hope to be wrong about this but the only one of the affiliated offshoots I know of that works actively in magic is the SOL. They have a web page that can be found easily with a websearch. If you have no luck I can send you their URL. I have been reading her books actively for the past year or so. I can recommend her Quabalah book without reservation. The Golden Dawn, which is the focus of this newsgroup, continues in its many facets to this day. Have you read about her connection with Moina Mathers and the Golden Dawn in the early twenties? Best of luck in your journey, L.V.X.

Greetings, I first became interested in Dion Fortune after reading several of her novels (_Moon Magic_, _Sea Priestess_ and _The Winged Bull_) . I found her narrative descritions of a magickal current really compelling. since then I continue to read from _The Mystical Qabala_. I'm also studying a correspondance course with a group that seems very much in tune with this work. How about you, or rather how about this newsgroup? how long has it been going on? Is there a FAQ, or some similar statement of purpose? In Light , Andrew Kaiser University of Pittsburgh
