take days to show up. They show immediately in all other groups. However, frankly this is why I am reticent to post here. I loose track of the thread of thought when a week goes bye betewwn something ive responded to and whatever anyone may have to say about that. I am rather new to newsgroups and so it is entirely likely that I am simply posting incorectly. However I have the feeling that the moderater takes a few days to read messages and this is the cause of the delay. Appologies if this is incorect.It realy is one of the few groups of interest to me and I would very much like to see it become lively. JR
Yes, so would I. It is a bit slow still, but I think we should persevere. Persverance is I think the key because if we are to develop a newsgroup that discusses magical matters seriously then we will have to accept that we will not have many participants. Quality initiates are not so common as one would wish, and I have no wish for this newsgroup to turn into an alt.magick.
I think it is worth the effort, but again, perseverance is the key.
As to the missing or delayed posts, yes, I have been having problems with the newsfeed. I am in the process of changing ISP (watch this space). In general I approve posts that are diverted to me for approval within 24 hours. There are very few exceptions to this, but with any moderated newsgroup, there will be a delay.
it will be quicker (and perhaps less prone to loss) if all contributions are sent to me via email rather than posting to the newsgroup. If doing this, it is important that I can distinguish between posts for the newsgroup and private email (which a lot of people send). Put 'Post to AOKGD' or something similar in the subject line and I will pick it up.
I hope the delay problem will improve, but in the meantime (at risk of being repetitive), perseverance is the key. Help us to make it a newsgroup for initiates. There aren't any others to my knowledge and there is a great need.
