An interesting thought, placing our culture on the Tree of Life. Just as an extra, though, are we ascending to Kether or descending towards Malkuth? I personally think we're moving up, mainly because I hope we're not moving down. I'd be interested in hearing other views, though.

I'd have to agree with the Qlippoth, however, in order not to be so negative, I would probably agree with Geburrah, although the aspect of justice in this septhirah seems lost in our culture.

It seems to me we are usually moving through any one (or two ) spheres at the same time? Looking for the third new relationship.
Moving now up.. and now down..now up etc.
What is wrong in accepting both the up and the down? what we repress seems to come back to haunt us.
Sometimes I think the future is coming in from Kether and moving out through Malkuth. Other times I sense that the future comes from the front of the Tree and moves through to the back. I bet it is doing all this and then some at the same time. While we might best be looking for the NOW!!!
Going down seems like the best preparation for going up. Every time I have gone up...I come down.
Best looking for the middle!!!

Can anyone tell me where this ng is cross-posted? For example, I made the original post above but no access to the J.T. McNeil post that is cited by 'guess'.

I dont think our culture can ever be placed on one sephirah though. It is at times closer to one than the other, but the closer it gets to one, the stronger the pull towards the other(s). I think we are moving up then down, or down then up, a constant flow, its all about balance and equilibrium. Or at least thats what I beleive. I'd like to beleive that we are moving up, but I think that there must be a coming down somwhere along the line.
