The question was how the Golden Dawn teaches meditation.

An answer was proposed: > When done rightly, .... The energy dynamics ... > definition ... re-orientation of a personal world view

This was an interesting and insightful definition and example of to do with the Golden Dawn. Perhaps the relationship is something like this:

Golden Dawn meditation desires to: (1) quiet the mind like Buddhist meditation (removing the clutter that prevents us from going through energy both condensing and expanding), (3) visualize the manifestation of energy like occult meditation (to acquire progress on our paths), (4) enjoy life (through recognition of our oneness and the service that is implied by this oneness), BUT IT DOES SO using a particular system of ceremonial magic using great techniques like ritual, legends, colors, music, prayer, signs, symbols, fire, water, earth, air, incense, story telling, candles, vaults, sacred places, rhythms, currents, Kabbalah, members might use any form of personal meditation. Each Golden Dawn ceremony includes specific meditations, and all ceremonies are preceded with certain forms of meditation. Finally, the sequence of Golden Dawn ceremonies intends to unite the bestial subconscious with the higher self, and that sequence is, itself, a

Hmmm... I'll better begin by introducing myself first. My name is Marcus Klinge, and I live in Germany. This makes it quite difficult for me to get some books (although I am fluent in English).

I do meditate for quite some time now, but I only concentrate on my breathing. My question is: How do I meditate on something as complex as the tree of life?

The easiest recommendation I'd make is to try W.G.Gray's books 'Magical Ritual Methods' or 'The Ladder Of Lights'.

: How do I meditate on something as complex as the tree of life?

First, let go of your belief that it is complex. The way you phrased your question seems to presuppose that 'complex' means 'difficult,' 'unwieldy,' and, ultimately, 'bad.' It's a barrier that stands between you and tapping into the knowledge, wisdom, theory and mysticism available. ...Kind of like using a baseball bat to pierce an iron door. But the door is iron only because you believe it to be Instead, open your mind and your self up in meditation to what the tree has to offer you. There are countless points and levels of entry, each with its own message for you. And each pearl of understanding gained will lead you to the next one, etc. Imagine yourself one with the tree. Where on the tree are you? What message does that position hold for you? Of what significance is that branch?
