The Beijing 2008 Olympics And The Jewish Perspective

I know that I’m not the only one that feels that the world should boycott the Olympiad in Beijing as the Chinese are going to use this event to gain legitimacy, legitimacy they shouldn’t have. If we recall the Olympics in Berlin 1936 then it is obvious to see how such an even can support an evil regime. If we think about it for the perspective of the Kabbalah then it is clear that every time we support by actively or passively the “Sitra Achra” (the other side) we are harmed. There is a price for exercising a choice where we want to put our energy but if one think that the most important thing that can be done is to exercise the power not to be carried away the greatest light is born. What the world would do is beyond me but I strongly feel that the right thing to do is to give light to those who can use it properly and the Chinese are only going to become more aggressive with the global recognition that they get. Maybe this is an opportunity for the world to reform.
