The Mind Matter Relation

I keep coming across debates about dualism and materialism as means to explain the world.
Are there two different mechanism that are not reducible to each other? Or is there just one.
Well I believe there is just one but not as a materialist but rather as a spiritualist, in kabbalah and in fact in other spiritual theories everything can be explained as manifestations of spirit which partly manifest itself as the material world.
